重视网页翻译工作　搞好公司对外宣传

[摘要] 越来越多的公司在互联网上建立自己的网站，使用两种甚至多种文本制作网页，力求更好地宣传自己的产品、挖掘潜在的市场、树立企业的形象。从理论上讲，这是个十分经济有效的办法，但在实践中未必尽如人意。通过实际调查分析发现，我国公司网页多半采用中英文两个文本制作，其中英译文本质量问题是影响产品促销和企业形象的主要因素。因此，建议重视网页翻译工作，尤其要避免误译现象，搞好公司的对外宣传。

　　一、公司网页英语文本的重要性
　　
　　互联网的普及和it技术的应用为世界各地的企业和商家带来了前所未有的发展机遇，许多公司由于高度重视这些现代科技的运用而得到了飞速发展和扩张，产品销量大增，公司业绩翻番。这些公司中比较成功的做法是，在internet上建立自己的网站，制作双语或多语种网页文本来介绍自己的产品，宣传自己的公司。调查发现，我国大多数公司的网页采用中文和英语两种文本，但英语翻译的质量相差很大甚至存在不少问题。
　　
　　二、网页文本误译的调查分析
　　
　　德国著名翻译教授wolfram wills认为，应用翻译更应当讲究从心理语言学的层面把两种语言的词汇、句法、功能有机地结合起来加以比较；翻译绝非容易之事，不是稍懂一点外语的人都能胜任的（wolfram,2001）。现随机下载有关行业某些公司的网站材料作为实例加以评析，仅从纯学术探索的视觉加以探讨不构成对相关单位的任何贬责诋毁之意。WWw.lw881.com
　　例1 /
　　原文：公司以木制品为主导产品,主要产品为木制国际象棋系列、迷你家具系列、木制礼品系列、日用品系列、儿童玩具系列、儿童中型家具系列等。
　　原译：our company main product wooden gifts items which treated with commodity items、chess items、youngster toyes items、youngster middle furniture items.
　　评析：具有平行关系的产品系列之间竟然使用中式标点符号，错误十分显眼；其他并发症是，若将原译中our company视为主语，则句子还是因为没有谓语而显得成分残缺，可以考虑改为our company mainly produces…或者the main products of our company are…；严格地说，which treated with 既不是限制性定语从句，也不是过去分词作后置定语，treated with 在原文中也没有任何对应之处；用词方面，main product该用复数形式而没有用，toy的复数形式却错误地写成 toyes；youngster的意思是“年青人,少年”，在此不合要求；产品名称翻译不规范，“系列产品”后面一连串的“系列”产品，在翻译时应该遵循简略的原则，不必一一重复译出。
　　改译：the main products of our company are series of wooden articles, including chess series, mini-furniture, wooden gifts, daily necessities, children’s toys and mid-sized furniture for children as well.

　　原文：我公司是专业生产中小型滚动深沟球轴承、单向轴承、高温轴承、角接触轴承、汽车轴承及精密轴套类零件的企业，…
　　原译：we are specialized in producing small o-typed rolling deep groove ball bearings, unilaterlialism bearings,high temperature,auto bearings and bearing parts
　　评析：原译中we are specialized in属于画蛇添足，表示“专业从事”只需直接将specialize置于主语后即可；再者，原译内容缺损严重，“中小型”被直接译成small；在producing支配的系列宾语中居然有high temperature，变成“专业生产”“高温”了；“单向轴承”中的“单向”竟然生造一个unilaterlialism来表达，难道是受unilateral（单方面做出的; 仅影响一方的; 单方面的; 单边的）影响？但unilateralism的意思是“片面限制武器论。”
　　改译：our enterprise specializes in manufacturing small and mid-sized deep groove ball bearings, one- direction thrust ball bearings, high-temperature bearings, angular-contact bearings, auto bearings and precision sleeve parts.

　　原文：野马经贸有限公司是一家集进出口贸易、旅游购物、仓储、国际联运、境内外工程承包为一体的自治区重点进出口企业，其前身是1994年成立的阿泰野马实业有限公司。
　　原译：/

　　评析：原译公司名称中的economy and trade?以及indutry都没有大写；was found以及后面的which found意思和语法全错；the former和the latter相对应，“前身”不等于“前者”；on,like 和horse,yema中间的逗号均用错；a quickly developing .中的点号前面不应该空格，后面应该空格却没有空格；it become属于严重语法错误，要么考虑用过去时，要么一般现在时；总之，标点混乱，没有把握主语导致句子结构断裂，术语翻译也不到位。
　　改译：yema trading company ltd., previously atai yema industry co. ltd. established in the year 1994, is a leading import and export company in our autonomous region, specializing in import and export trade, tourist purchase, warehousing, international combined transport and undertaking contracted projects at home and abroad.

　　原文：...自1998年引进了iso9001——2000标准版质量管理体系对生产过程进行严格管理以来,取得了很好的效果,产品质量多年来一直保持稳定,得到了国内外广大客户的广泛认可...
　　原译：in order to improve the quality of the products, from 1998, we start to carry out the iso9001——2000 quality control systems and get good effects. for the effort of us, now the products have been accept world widely.
　　评析：原译最大的问题在于时态不明，既然是from 1998，那么，在start一处既没有使用过去时，也没有使用完成时；在have been accept中，accept保持原形，说明译者对完成时的被动语态根本没有把握。实际上，汉语中的句子要译成英语时，如果能以短语为之，效果可能更好；world widely的错误在于想当然地把world wide变性使用了，应该考虑到要么选用widely，要么选用worldwide，但前者为副词用作状语，后者为形容词用作定语。因此，用all over the world也行。
　　改译：since the introduction of the iso9001-2000 quality control systems into the strict management of the manufacturing process in the year1998, satisfactory results have been achieved. the quality of our products is always being kept stable and thus our commodities are widely accepted by the clients all over the world.

　　原文：自1991年成立以来，致力于提升产品品质，塑造高品位，高层次的企业形象。采用时尚的设计、先进材料、精湛而先进的工艺和完善的管理制度、良好的售后服务，深得海内、外客商依赖。
　　原译：the company has taken up with improving the quality shaping high administrative rise if is foundes in 1991 and adopt the fashional design advanced material advanced technics. and perfect management after service it is trusted deeply by the domestic and aerseas foreign customers.
　　评析：首先应当看到，中文原文本身就存在层次不清之处，“依赖”当推定为“信赖”。从布局谋篇的视角看，译文从标点符号到遣词造句，从句子结构到文体风格，几近没有头绪。“时尚的设计”和“先进材料”等平行结构之间，汉语中用顿号，英语中用逗号，但此处译文错用点号；enterprise image. 竟然独立成句，事实上，enterprise也不必大写；词法方面，it 写成了if，aerseas 拼错，fashional也是想当然地造词；在adopt the fashional design advanced material advanced technics. and perfect management 等一大串动宾结构中可以考虑采用谓语并行或-ing形式，原译却只是简单拼凑了事；since if is foundes 以及good after service it is trusted deeply by等译法简直毫无章法可言。
　　改译：since the establishment of our company in the year 1991 we have been committing ourselves to improving the quality of our products for the purpose of building up an enterprise image of high grade and high level. the adoption of fashionable designs, sophisticated materials, super craftsmanship and perfect management system, together with our perfect after-sale service, has enabled us to win the confidence of our customers all over the world.
　　
　　三、应当高度重视网页文本的翻译工作
　　
　　通过上面的分析可以很清楚地看到，翻译工作在对外宣传和交际方面的作用是何其重要，英语文本要力求达到美国翻译专家nida所倡导的“最恰当的对等”(nida, 1964:130)。
　　否则，网页的误译有可能造成非常严重的后果。 因此，呼吁认真对待网页翻译工作，对每一个单词都不要掉以轻心。
